Design of the Light-up Santa Headband
I wanted to keep the design really simple, so I decided that instead of using red pom-pom noses for Santa’s face, I would rip them off. Then replace them with an LED light-up feature! It was fast-and-easy as pie–you’ll have yourself one cool Light Up Santa Headband in no time flat!!!
Making the Light-up Santa Headband
Now that we have everything to make the Light-up Santa headband!!!! Begin by taking off the nose. They sometimes peel right off with no problem and sometimes you have to cut them off. I had one peel right off and the second I had to cut off so it might be a 50/50 chance. Grab the awl and poke the two holes for the leads to go through!!!
Test the battery and LED so that you know which leads it positive and which is negative. Also to ensure that the LED is good!!!
Feed the leads through the two holes and then bend them at a 90-degree angle to stabilize. Next, swirl the LED lead into a swirl so that you can create a circle to sew through. There are many ways you can do this I always like the swirl because of the final look however you can do anything you want!!! Time to sew around the lead and then move to the port on the button battery board. Double Check that you are sewing the positive to the positive and the negative to the negative.
Insert the battery and test your circuit!!!
Using regular thread sew the top two ports to fully stabilize the board to the back of the Santa Face.
Turn on each of the boards and put on your new Light-up Santa Headband!!!!
