About Me

My name is Christina HadleyDike Roosevelt and I am a Creator Artist.  I received an MFA in Costume Technology from Indiana University. Before attending Graduate School, I worked extensively throughout this country in many different costume shops.  I have always loved creating and found expressing myself through clothes, jewelry, and my art to be extremely rewarding. My mission is to inspire others to create with me by providing instructions and examples to help bring their ideas to life.

My favorite part about being a Creator Artist is the process after seeing the initial design.  This is a time to explore different options and ideas of how to bring the initial designs to completion.  During the creating process different applications can inspire a change to the initial design.  My second favorite part is seeing the final product in three-dimensional form.  Seeing how the final project directly resembles the initial design and sometimes where you were inspired to change and alter the design.  I find the process of creating to be a place of imagination because ideas spark from everywhere. Mistakes and missteps can even help change a project for the better and inspire a different or new vision.  The creative process can either maintain or change the initial design but no matter what the creative process transforms initial designs into beautiful dreams.

Everything has changed because of COVID-19.  The industry I have been working in for the past 10 years has come to a halt.  I want to continue to inspire, teach, dream and create beautiful projects!!  I have a passion for passing my knowledge through workshops, symposiums and step-by-step instructions to others who are interested and desire to learn from my experience.  Come innovate and create with me!

What I do

Historical inspired re-creations

Clothing from history has always fascinated me. I love learning about the understructures that help create the final outer shape. Dressing in a different time period is a great way to escape our normal mundane life. Taking a stroll around the block in historical reproductions will bring a smile to everyone you encounter.

Custom built / Up-cycled clothing

Sometimes finding the prefect shirt or dress is extremely difficult. I love to have a unique style and often alter the clothes I buy to make them fit better as well as me more authentically my style. Building custom clothing also creates the opportunity to produce exactly what I want and the fit I desire.

Wearable Technology

Wearable Technology

Wearing light up clothing and jewelry makes me happy. I love to create different types of jewelry and clothing that can simply light up or even react differently with different surroundings. I revel in creating garments and jewelry that brings a smile to most anybody.
