Pattern a Striped Knit Shirt is something I had always dreamed of. A shirt with every section of stripes in the pattern going in different directions and so I looked for ways to make it happen. Not one to give up easily, I found that by inserting seam lines everywhere on my basic pattern set, I finally got what would become a truly unique striped Shirt!

Designing the Pattern of a Striped Knit Shirt
I reI really liked the apparel pattern I used to create my floral shirt. So instead of creating a whole new, boring pattern out of thin air, this time around I decided to use that same old pattern and cut it apart! Then with some creativity (not too much!), by changing up the grain lines so they were going in every direction- voila: One unique stripey shirt for me!!!
Patterning the Striped Knit Shirt
I wanted a shirt that was both stylish and comfortable, so I decided to add an asymmetrical hemline. It was while adding in the chevron design on one side of my new garment when it dawned on me how simple this change could be! The stripes would go down either side of the pointy edge – creating a fun style feature everyone will love!
Since I was going to put this shirt together with the serger, I could add the same seam allowance all around with only a few clicks of a button.
