When I find new fun fabric, an idea for a shirt comes to life for a fun Halloween shirt!!! After purchasing the fabric I will pattern it and then build my dream tee for my husband. With this glow-in-the-dark material, we are going on an adventure together!

Patterning the shirt
I began by taking the sloper pattern I patterned for my husband. We had talked about the shirt being a basic easy shirt with baseball sleeves out of the fun candy corn fabric!!! So all I had to do was flat pattern in illustrator the sleeves into the baseball tee pattern. Check out the video below and think how crazy awesomely creative you’ll look in your own basic outfit?!
After the shirt is the pattern, it is time to print it out, tape it together, cut out the pattern, and lay the pattern out on the fabric!!! Of course, I always recommend testing out the glowing properties of the fabric!!!
Building the Shirt
I like to lay out my pattern so that I ensure that I sew all the correct seams together!!!
Start by serging the front bodice to the front of the sleeve. I have marked notches on my pattern that assist in lining up the patterns to fit perfectly.
Next, serge that back bodice to the back of the sleeves.
Now it is time to make the shirt complete by sewing up the side seam. This seam will continue all the way down the underarm sleeve!! It makes the setting in the sleeve an easy task!!!
Time to finish off the neckline. I used a long stripe of fabric that will be folded over and stitched down. I also cut this strip of fabric about 2″ smaller than the original neck opening. This will help tighten down the neck hole and help it from stretching out too much!!!
Finally, it is time to hem the shirt. Serge all around to encase the edge and help with fraying. Then turned up the edge by an inch and topstitch all around.
I chose to do a smaller turn-up on the sleeves so that we could add some fun glow-in-the-dark skeleton trim!!!
Now you have a unique fun shirt to wear to your Halloween party or to work to make everyone smile!!!
