Pattern the Unique Halloween Shirt for Her

I love how fast and easy patterning new shirts are in Adobe Illustrator. I also really enjoy the flexibility of being able to make changes with just one click, rather than trying out different designs on my computer screen before deciding what will ultimately become my finished product!

Build the Unique Halloween Shirt for Her

Begin by finishing the armscye and top of the sleeve. This way the edges will already be finished. I always like to stretch the binding slightly so that it is gathering the pattern down. Finish the bottom edge of the sleeve so that when it is sewn shut the sleeve hem is already finished. Sew up the sleeve seam lining up the hem and the top.

Sew in long gathering stitches where the pattern guides to evenly place gathers under the bust. Pull the gathering stitches and line up the edge of the top of the bodice and the bottom of the bodice. Serge the seam together. Serge that side seam and shoulder seams. Next, we will add the collar to the neckline. Ensure that the notches line up and that there are 2 inches in the overlap.

The last thing is to attach the sleeves to the underarms and finally hem the bottom.
