Design and Makeing the Light-up Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer earrings
Start off by gathering all the supplies you need to create these fun new earrings!!!!
Next, poke two holes through the nose of the reindeer to poke the leads through. Before placing the leads through ensuring that you know which is positive and which is negative!!! Re-doing the sewing work is not fun at all!!! I like to grab a battery and test the leads. The other way to know is the longer lead is the positive one.
Time to swirl and sew!!! Swirl the lead into a circle so that it is easy to sew around the lead. You want to make sure to get a good connection between the lead and the port. I always suggest doing at least three loops around each however I usually try and do five. On my second lead to port, I was running low on the thread so I could only do three loops on each. However, it still works great!!! I was also very short on the thread so I had to do some unique tieing off!!! I will finish off these threads with a little bit of clear nail polish later to help the thread stay put.
Test the Circuit. I always recommend testing the circuit before fully cutting off your access to the threads. This way if anything had to be undone it is easier to get to now instead of having to redo more later!!
Finishing the earrings
It is time to do the finishing touches. With regular thread sew the top two ports to the reindeer so that the coin battery board is secure to the earring. Next, it is time to add the earring hardware!!! Begin by poking a hole through the top of the Light-up Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer earrings. There is a few layers of felt to poke through so make sure your hole is large enough. I had to go back a second time and make the hole a little larger. Feed the chain link through the hole and close it up. Next, open the top chain link and feed the earring hook through. Make sure that the earring hook is facing the correct way so that the Reindeer earring hangs in the correct direction. Close up the final like and you now have finished the Light-up Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer earrings. Put in a battery and try it on!!!
