Have you ever wanted to make your own Valentine’s Day shirt? Well, now is the time! All it takes is the design that you dream up, creating the pattern, printing out the pattern, and then creating the shirt. With a serger, the creation process is very fast!!!

Gather your Materials

  • PDF Pattern
  • Fabric
  • Rotary Cutter
  • Cutting Mat
  • Serger

Printing off the and creating the Pattern

The first thing we have to do is print off the pattern. It is recommended to always put numbers on every page so that the puzzle of putting the patterns together is easier!!! Tape on every seam line as well as in between this will ensure that the pattern is solid and will not cause problems when cutting out the fabric. Cut out every pattern piece and lay it aside.

Time to layout the fabric!! I cut out the sleeve and bottom flounce on the fold. Before I cut out the top pieces I change where the fabric was folded. This will help save space as well as leave a larger remnant for later.

Serging the Valentines Day Kint Shirt

Time to serge the Shirt together!!! I love my serger and would highly recommend the Baby Lock Imagine to anyone looking for a serger!!! It will make creating knit garments like this faster and easier.

Finishing the Valentines Day Kint Shirt

To finish off the shirt I did some hand stitching the complete the detailing. Then it was time to try on the shirt and get really excited to wear it out on Valentine’s Day!!!
