It’s time to get into the spirit of Christmas and celebrate by making some fun light-up Cherry Cheeks Santa earrings! Follow this guide so that you can rock your new Cherry Cheek Santas at any party, transforming yourself from an average Joe into someone who lights up the party!!!! Let us show off with these amazing Light-up Santa Earrings!!

Gather your materials

  • LilyPad Coin Battery Board
  • Sequin LED
  • Conductive thread
  • Felt Santa
  • Chain
  • Earring Hook
  • Pillars
  • Scissors
  • Coin Battery
  • Hand Needle

Felt Santa Faces from Hobby Lobby or Dollar Tree

Design the Cherry Cheeks Santa earrings

The design is very simple. I am going to use the premade Santa face from Hobby Lobby and then add LED behind where his cheeks are! This will light up both cheeks in a Cherry Cheeks style, creating these awesome earrings for you this Christmas 🙂

Making the Cherry Cheeks Santa earrings

Test out the LED before you sew them in!!! That way you know they are working!!!

Twist the LED out of the Housing if they came in the housing

Look Closely at the LED and ensure you know you are sewing the Positive to the positive and the negative to the negative!!! Otherwise, you will have to seam rip, and redo!!!

Sew both Positive ports of the LEDs.

Figure out the placement of the LilyPad Coin Battery Board. Sew the Positive up through the center of the back of the Santa head. Then place the Coin Battery Board over top and sew around the Positive port of the Board.

Connect each of the Negative ports of the LEDs to the Negative ports of the LilyPad Coin Battery Board. You can have them both connected to one Negative port I choose to have them each connected to the closes port to have less chance of the Conductive thread being seen on the front side of the felt earring.

Time to add the hardware to create the earring. Using an awl poke a hole at the top of the Santa. Get two chain links from the chain. Connect one side through the hole created in the Santa and close tightly. Open up the other one and slip on the earring hook. Double-check that the hook is making the Santa hang correctly. Insert the battery and test the circuit.
